SANTA MONICA PIER STATION

real-time data from the pier

The Santa Monica Pier Station is part of a state-wide network of pier stations that measure nearly continuously a set of oceanographic parameters, including temperature, salinity, pressure, and in some cases chlorophyll and turbidity. Data from these pier stations are sent to a central processing site at Scripps Institution of Oceanography, which then serves the data to the public through the SCCOOS website. We mirror the data through our LAS server.

Data from the sensors at Santa Monica Pier can provide information about current water conditions, pollution, and tide level.
