Welcome to the Outreach and Education webpages of the Santa Monica Bay Observatory. Welcome to the SMBO classroom. We have put together this special website for you and your teachers so that you can join us as we explore the waters off Los Angeles in Santa Monica Bay. Learn how to predict if it will be a good beach day or if the fish are running. See for yourself what the ocean looks like from 500 miles above the earth and 15 meters below the surface. We're glad you came. STUDENTS: Explore the waters off California and learn something about your environment. TEACHERS: This portal is intended to provide you with information, ideas, and lesson plans that demonstrate how you can use our data to teach your students.
