The LAS server is currently providing data for the pier station and the mooring. This page provides some details about the data that is available from this server.
The pier station data are available by clicking on the Santa Monica Pier link
The mooring data are organized according to sensor packages and deployment. Three sensor packages are considered:
- MetSys: Windspeed, wind direction, air pressure, air temperature
- CTD: near surface temperature, salinity, pressure, fluorescence, and extinction
- GPS: location of mooring (latitude, longitude)
- TSS: temperature, salinity, and (pressure) on string extending to 100 m
- ADCP: currents from ~5m down to ~100m
Currently, the mooring is on its 3rd deployment cycle. The first deployment was from June 2001 until August 2003; the 2nd deployment from February 2005 until December 2005, and the current 3rd deployment began on March 6, 2006. Data for a particular sensor package and deployment cycle are obtained by clicking on the respective link, e.g. Santa Monica Bay Mooring (MetSys: 2001-2003 deployment) for obtaining data from the MetSys package for the 1st deployment cycle.

UNDER CONSTRUCTION
Please note that the data provided here have undergone only minimal quality control. Care is therefore required in interpreting these data. Researchers intending to use these data should contact Nicolas Gruber (lead-PI) to establish a more vigorous quality control.
